I first heard them:
on Pandora, which took the unusual step of feeding me several
Distillers songs instead of just picking one
Sound:
The band’s first two records didn’t do anything for me,
but their last one (Coral Fang) successfully
synthesizes Hole and Rancid into a solid set of songs.
And as lazy as it is to say that an album by a 35-year-old woman has
a more mature sound than that of a 24-year-old, that is basically what
Brody Dalle’s solo album sounds like: the Distillers grown up.
