Melissa Auf der Maur

From: Montreal, Canada

Active (as a solo artist): 2004-2010

I first heard her: when she joined Hole after Kristen Pfaff's death

Sound: As I wrote here, apparently hers is the sort of sound that does nothing for me for fourteen years and then abruptly sounds great. She sounds like what she is: a former bassist for Hole and the Smashing Pumpkins who collaborated with Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age.

Listening station: If you don't like these, check back in fourteen years. You might just change your mind!

"Lightning Is My Girl" (2004)
