I first heard of them: around the time “No One Knows” was released, at which point I read multiple references to them being the big new thing, but hadn’t actually heard the song because I was living in an area with no modern rock radio station.  I bought their record after listening to a couple of clips online.

Sound: Apparently bandleader Josh Homme calls it “rock versions of electronic music”, which is interesting—​I hadn’t thought about it that way.

Further listening: Here’s another track from the one Queens album I own; I haven’t followed the band’s later career, though I’ve liked some of the singles I’ve heard.
